There are numerous medical, professional and technical organizations that provide equipment and therapy to assist the Physically Challenged (PC) in leading a productive life. Thanks to researchers and advancements in technology, new doors and opportunities have opened to the PC community.
While many people living with a loss of mobility and limb are equipped to participate in daily activities including home, work and education, there remains a gap in the process for activating an individual into a fulfilled life of health and wellness. The Scott Rigsby Foundation feels a need to fill this gap and accelerate advances in technology and services.
The PC community desires to have a positive impact in life. Like able-bodied people, these individuals have lifestyle goals and dreams, and are seeking to fulfill their purpose. This is all the more evident in developing countries where children and their families are impacted by loss of limb and mobility but have limited access to prosthetic and orthotic support.
